AcmeBondage.com navigation improved.

I got a customer request last week to make some improvements to the navigation at AcmeBondage.com--I think Unfortunately, he didn't tell me in his email WHAT site he wanted the improvements made, he simply asked that I make improvements and didn't mention ANYTHING about what fucking site. I was able to search using his email to find out what site he joined and thus I can infer that he is referring to the site he "paid" to join even though his membership gets him access to all the 100+ quality sites at BareGirls.com and there really is no way for me to really know what fucking site he means. So, being the asshole that I am, I waited a week before doing shit. All the sites are database driven so making navigational improvements is fast as I simply need to change the template and the database updates everything for me.

However, it's done now. You can now search easily by content category type (and there are lots of categories) as well as displaying only Pictures (for those with slow connections) and only Videos (for those that prefer videos) as I know that there are members who prefer one or another based upon their Internet speeds or just upon their personal preferences. That was about all I could think of, but just let me know if you'd like any other search criteria added.

Sites Status

Everything appears to be running smoothly now. I'm tweaking a few things since I'm already looking at everything and I'll continue to do so over the next few days, but everything appears to be running fine. Please report if you find any problems, but I haven't been getting many Site Bug Reports recently so things are obviously running fine.

Seems that the DNS issues have been resolved and propagation is completed. Everything appears to be working fine here. Enjoy the sites. I'll be doing a lot of updates today and tomorrow of individual sites so make sure to check them out.

Most sites appear to be working fine, but I have noticed that AcmeBondage.com is not accessible from everywhere. Loads fine for me, but I see that it's not loading for some people in different parts of the world. Thus, an obvious DNS issue. Chances are this will work itself out as the correct data propagates, but we will keep an eye on things. If you notice any other issues, let us know.

Sites Up and Down?

Over the past 24+ hours most of you have been unable to access our servers. Long story which you can read about here ( http://service-update.theplanet.com/ ) should you want the technical reason for it. Our sites are not down often, and this problem was almost unavoidable as you'll read about in the above site post. This outage impacted 7500 servers directly so they say, 9000 different companies, 90,000 websites someone estimated, but these amazingly high numbers are actually lower than the truth as our sites were effected, but our server technically did NOT go down! I could access it, and as I checked our logs seems that some others figured a back way in as well, but the Domain Name Servers which were suppose to point you towards our site were down because of that explosion as described in the site post above. So, while our server remained up, few people were able to access it as the server which had the domain information was down and thus you weren't getting pointed to our server.

They are getting things resolved with this so things will be up and down and quickly improving. I'm made some changes to add redundancy with the name servers, but it's also possible that this will cause some temporary problems as those changes take effect as well as I went ahead and made some other changes that needed to be made since things were basically down for you all anyway.

The short of this is that things will just get better, but there may be some ups and downs over the next day or few days as things get worked out. You can rest assured though that we have the best servers available as we really went serious overkill as usual when we last updated our servers with each having 2 Intel Xeon Quad Core chips for a total of 8 cores of processing power per machine when 1 core should have been enough--so that's not the problem and should never be the problem, but all that power doesn't mean shit if people can't access the server I guess!

I'll keep you posted.
